Frequently Asked Questions

Is Video Studio completely free?
Yes, 100% free. No account required, no watermarks, no file limits.
Are my videos uploaded to a server?
No. All processing runs locally in your browser using ffmpeg.wasm — a WebAssembly port of ffmpeg. Your video data never leaves your device.
Why does it take a moment to start the first time?
The tool downloads the ffmpeg WebAssembly engine (~30 MB) on first use. After that it is cached in your browser and subsequent uses start instantly.
What video formats are supported?
You can upload MP4, MOV, AVI, WebM, MKV, and M4V files. Output formats vary by operation: compress to MP4/WebM, convert to MP4/WebM/MOV/AVI/MKV/GIF, extract audio as MP3/WAV/AAC/OGG.
What is the maximum video file size?
Up to 500 MB. Larger files may use more browser memory — for very large files, a 64-bit browser with at least 4 GB RAM is recommended.
How do I trim a video to a specific time range?
Select the Trim tab, enter your start and end time in HH:MM:SS format or as plain seconds, then click Process Video. The tool uses stream copy for MP4 so there is no quality loss.
How does the Extract Frames feature work?
Choose to capture frames every N seconds or at specific timestamps (comma-separated). The tool exports each frame as a PNG image and bundles them into a ZIP file for download.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes, Video Studio works on all modern browsers including mobile Chrome and Safari. Performance depends on your device — desktop or laptop is recommended for large files.
